The problem
A self serve frozen yogurt shop is a simple business with a website that has to do a surprising number of jobs. Somebody deciding whether to walk over wants to know what is in the machines right now. Somebody who has never used a self serve bar wants to know how it works before they are standing at it holding a cup. Somebody looking for a job wants to apply without emailing a resume into a void.
And what is in the machines changes, so nothing on the site can be a fact that only a developer can update.
What we built
The site answers those questions in the order people ask them, and the shop answers them itself.
The flavour board is content, edited by the shop rather than by us, so what is on the bar this week is on the site this week. How it works is explained in the order it happens: cup, swirl, toppings, scales, about ninety seconds. Visiting is its own page with the address, the hours and directions. Careers opens a form that is already filled out far enough to be worth finishing.
The tone follows the shop. You pull your own swirl, you decide when to stop, and nobody is going to question three flavours in one cup.
Where it stands
Frochi is live at frochiyogurt.com and the shop is at 2/18 Stamford Road, Indooroopilly.
It is the smallest build on this list and the one that makes the point most plainly: the site is not the deliverable on its own. The deliverable is the shop being able to change what it says without asking anyone.
